News and Information: | Emily's Story Emily Vonder Meulen died on April 13, 2006 from anaphylactic shock. She was 13 years old. She accidentally ingested traces of peanut at a local sandwich shop. We along with Allergykids, admire the Vonder Meulen family for their strength and courage in sharing their story. She will be missed for her smile, her bear hugs and her generous spirit.

~TIP~ Be sure to create an information sheet for babysitters, schools etc. Include their picture, contact names and numbers, doctor names and numbers, allergy and symptoms and instructions in case of allergic reaction. . Go over this sheet with anyone who will be in charge of your child, share it with older siblings too! Let your child help to create it. Let them be involved as they learn to keep themselves safer.
